Postpartum Depression

It is a moderate to severe depression in a woman after she has given birth and may occur shortly after delivery or up to a year later. Occurrence within the first three months after delivery is expected. The exact causes of postpartum depression are unknown. Changes in hormone levels during and after pregnancy can affect a woman’s mood. Many factors other than hormonal factors can also affect mood during this period.
