Vaginal Yeast Infections

Vaginal Yeast Infections

Vaginal Yeast Infection occurs when the healthy yeasts that normally live in the vagina proliferate uncontrollably. This usually causes itching and other irritating symptoms. The medical term for a yeast infection is “Candidiasis” because they are usually caused by the yeast type Candida. In most cases, a healthy vagina has yeast. However, sometimes they proliferate too much and that generates an infection. Yeast infection can be very irritating and uncomfortable.

Vaginal discharge is the most common symptom of vaginal fungal infection, most commonly caused by the fungus “Candida Albicans”. Vaginal yeast infections are widespread, about 75% of women are said to have it at least once when their immune system is weak.
